A short bike trip to the nature)

Hello, my dear friends!
How are you doing? What is new?
Not long ago my friends (Olga, Kate and Angelina) and me decided to take a ride on bikes around Braslav. I took a comfortable seat in Olga's backpack, so I could see everything. We travelled along the road out of the town and stopped at the shore of a very beautiful lake. I decided to have a snack and rest a minute in the boat. The weather was wonderful!!!
After that we rode home. I can't forget all the beautiful places I saw that day.
I wish you came here and enjoyed this great nature and people!
With great love,
yours Woodstock
P.S. Thanks to Olga, Kate and Angelina for the ride)

Last Bell Party

Hello my dear friends,
How are you? Is everything OK?
We are having fun here in Braslav)). Not long ago we celebrated Last Bell Party, May 31. This event marks the end of the school year and is held in all Belarusian schools.
First of all we gathered in the school yard in front of Braslav Gymnasium. There were a lot of people (teachers, students, their parents, grandparents and people who just wanted to see the holiday). All students were beautifully dressed. They had a lot of flowers.
In the beginning the anthem of Belarus was played (it's a tradition to listen to this anthem before every important event). If you want to listen to it I give you the link.
After that representatives of the local authority congratulated all students and teachers with the end of the school year and wished a lot of luck to the 9 and 11 Grade students who were going to take their exams.
Many songs and good words were said at the meeting but the most interesting thing was waltz of the school leavers. It was awesome!!!!!! I hope that you'll like it as well. Here's the link
So, we are full of impressions)) and we glad that we can share them with you.
Love,
yours Woodstock

International Youth Spring Discussion Camp

Hello my dear American friends!
How are you doing there in North Carolina? I hope everything is OK))
Today I'd like to tell you about one more event that is traditional in Braslav Gymnasium - it's International Youth  Spring Discussion Camp. This camp is annual and is usually held in the end of March, on spring holidays. This time is very convenient because this camp is not only for students of Braslav Gymnasium but also for those who want to change their life for better.
This year we met students from different Belarusian schools (Verkhnedvinsk, Vitebsk, Zditovo, Minsk, Druya, Molodechno, Pinsk, Ivanovo, Orsha) and from Latvia (Riga and Daugavpils). During the work of the camp the participants tried to spread the ideas of sustainable development among the citizens of Braslav and the region. They tried to work out some projects and ideas that will help people, who live in this smal and very beautiful town, to live a better and a happier life.
It was really cool when the ideas that we created together were shared with the local authority and the way of putting these ideas into life was discussed!  Can you imagine, the students had debates and tried to prove their opinions!!! I think that we can use this form of activity in our school and communicate with the local authority to draw their attention to the problems of the region)) It's really helpful. Do you agree?
Best wishes to everyone,
Love,
Woodstock
P.S. Some photos of the camp

Scientific conference in Braslav

We listen to Yana's from the Netherlands
Dear friends,
I'm so sorry for not writing for such a long time but I was really busy these days.
I should say that the life in Braslav gymnasium is very intensive. We participate in different events that take place here.
Students present their work about musical groups
First of all I'd like to tell you about Scientific-Practical Conference for students that traditionally takes place in Braslav Gymnasium in March every year. We were happy to listen to the presentations of Braslav students that were devoted to studying English. The topics were really different)) Some of them investigated the names of different musical groups (English, Russian, Belarusian, American, etc.), some spoke about the meaning of games and their role in people's life. Some students tried to express their opinion about art and what it should look like. Some spoke about Belarusian Eurovision contestants. Have you heard anything about Eurovision? I'm sure, not)) Here you can find some info about it. It's a musical contest)) Do we have a similar one in America? I'm not sure(

We analyze the results of the survey))
So, we listened to all the presentations and learnt a lot. I enclose some photos for you to see the students and us))
How are you doing? How is Tater?

I miss you so much)))
My greetings to everyone,
Yours Woodstock

Weekend in the country

Hi,
we are doing well, a week ago we were out of town in the country with Andrew, and saw Lake Nespish.
Braslav is a very beautiful city. In Braslav there are many different plants and animals. We watched how nature revived after the winter, we found some snowdrops, visited the agri-estate "Murazhe." To have more fun, we climbed a tree and could not get down from there but our friend Andrew helped us. And at the end of the day we watched the sunset over Braslav.

Woodstock decided to fly a little bit, and then we watched the fish: they were very beautiful and interesting. We'd remember this day for a long time!
Best wishes,
Woodstock

Tea Party

Hello my  dear friends!
Sorry for not writing earlier, but we were too busy.
Today I want to tell you about the tea party we had with the students of the 8th Grade on March 10. I'd like to mention that they are really nice and friendly :)
We have tea
The day before we got a pack of cookies and presents from you, my dear friends from North Carolina))) We were happy a lot to get a music CD as well, because we miss our native music so much. We can't but admit that national Belarusian music is full of joy and beauty. I give you a link and you can listen  to it in your free time: Belarusian Folk Music or here.
Next day we went to see beautiful places in Braslav and around the town.
A snapshot of Braslav
I liked beautiful lakes that are seen everywhere. As my Braslav friends say there are 5 lakes inside the town!!!! And about 300 in Braslav region!! Can you imagine?
I hope that some day you'll have a chance to visit this wonderful town and  the nature around it!

Hugs and love,
Woodstock.

P.S. Enjoy the photos)))
